In his words: ‘’there was this three days darkness that would have covered the entire world. People saw it. Even the scientists confirmed it. But the Father being a loving Father cancelled it, to give us time to change, surrender ourselves to Him and follow Him with a pure heart.”
It would be recalled that in the last three decades, clerics, occult grand masters, religious leaders, gurus of secret orders, even soothsayers came up in their esoteric investigations that darkness was imminent in the world to rid it of evil-doers.
To prove the transcendence of God, its cancelation by the Supreme Father of the Universe still remains a puzzle in all spiritual circles.
Delivering His sermon on the last day of the fasting, His Holiness, Olumba Olumba Obu who took His Bible reading from Mark 8:36, 1 Peter 1:14-16 and Luke 5:38 respectively advised members to use the period to pray for forgiveness, purify their hearts and disengage from all forms of sins so that they would receive His blessings.
He described fasting as a period of mortifying the flesh to enable us change over from our old ways and work in line with the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“...if you have suffered the flesh in this 72 hours fasting, you are a new person. To preserve this new body, you have to change and purify yourselves so that you will not be damned,” said Leader Olumba.
Seventy-two hours fasting is a spiritual exercise observed by members of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in March, July and November annually for spiritual rejuvenation and purification of the body.
The exercise ended with prayers for peace in Nigeria and the world as well as numerous testimonies.
