He said this in one of His sermons delivered on Sunday 28th November, 2010 at Brotherhood of the Cross and Star World Headquarters in Calabar.

“Today, people use burial to show off, what a rich family or what a rich man. They will all be crushed. It is lack of love. People keep dead bodies in the mortuary for years. What is there in the mortuary? Nothing.

‘By the time the body stays in the mortuary, maybe, the soul has reincarnated, they say you are celebrated. What are you celebrating? Is that not waste of time or lack of knowledge? Go and see some of these burials they do, that money spent there could have been used in helping the poor and the needy and you will be blessed for it.

‘Look at the way people spent in burials. They import gold casket from abroad even when the person was not taken care of when he was alive. That is why in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, we don’t keep mourning house. When our Lord Jesus Christ died, He was buried the same day, even His disciples, when they died, they were buried the same day.

‘All these ostentatious burials, God is not happy. Look at what churches do in burials today. Is it not misleading? When somebody dies, he is gone, the spirit is gone. It is only the fleshing that is there. Nothing else.”

The fount of all knowledge, His Holiness, King Olumba Olumba Obu further averred that Brotherhood has brought the truth to the world in order to eradicate most of the cultures that do not glorify God adding that those who follow Our Lord Jesus Christ must practice His teachings.

He advised Christians to dissociate themselves from cultures that are inimical to the Christian faith adding that their professed belief in Christ should be shown in their strict adherence to His precepts.
