Iyango Lazarus
Two months after the celebration of the golden Jubilee of the Headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in Rivers state, 125 Aggrey Road Cathedral, stakeholders in the area are still in celebration mood.
A recent facts finding visit to the state revealed that not only are the people of the zone excited, the memory of the ‘miracle’ of the completion of the Cathedral remains very fresh in their minds.
It would be recalled that on the 7th of November, 2010, people of the area celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Bethel.

In His key note address at the occasion, the Bethel Leader’s Representative, Prophet Tamunokuro Emmanuel, traced the history of the Bethel, which he said, was started by Late Brother Gustivus Collingwood Wilson (popularly called Pa Wilson).
The L/R maintained that before the Bethel became a full fledge worship centre in July, 1960, the Holy Father sent a five man delegation, headed by the Supreme Holy Mother Elizabeth Esu Olumba Olumba Obu with other members – Prophetess (Princess) Archibong, and Evang. Rosemary Archibong. The team was also accompanied with a symbol of Authority of a tithe box, Bible, and a bell, to formally commission the Bethel.
The Bethel which was initially cited at Pa Wilson’s compound later relocated to former “Unity Church or Movement “compound after the civil war in 1968.
As arrangements were concretized, the former occupant of the compound transferred the right of ownership to Brotherhood.
Meanwhile, BCS in Rivers State would not be complete without mentioning 125 Aggrey Road Bethel, now renamed Olumba Olumba Obu Avenue Cathedral, where brethren from all works of life assemble for worship. >>>> View Pictures
