MAKING OF THE 12 DISCIPLES
In a ceremony held on Wednesday 8th of April, 2009,
His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
selected 12 brethren of whom are saddled with the responsibilities of serving in the capacity of the 12 disciples.
Shortly before the selection process, appraisals were made by the 2008
set of the 12 disciples through Pastor (Dr) Bessong Bessong who in his
report stated the achievements of the 12 in the areas of global evangelism, charity works and other humanitarian and philanthropic services within the tenure of their service.
He went further to thank the Holy Father on behalf of his brethren and
co-disciples for the opportunity granted them to serve in God’s vineyard and prayed for continuity even as the night was to witness their replacement
and reassignment to other duties in the Kingdom.
Shortly after the presentation by Pastor (Dr) Bessong Bessong, the Father His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, expressed
His gratitude to God for the outgoing disciples, whose services in His words,
brought about sustainable development to the Brotherhood of Cross and Star, and humanity in general. Strolling majestically through the melody filled Great Hall, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, the following brethren were picked from the different pews to serve as the12 Disciples for the year 2009;
1. Apostle Thomas Commander
2. 144,000 Virgin Brother Akaniyene Akpan
3. TCW Ochuko Eyayo-Young
4. SCS Samuel Jack
5. Brother Eyo Eyo
6. 144,000 Virgin Brother Adbul Mamman
7. 144,000 Virgin Brother Paul Obu
8. His Lordship Bishop Manfred Elleh
9. His Lordship Bishop Sunday Imowo
10. SCS Victor Dan
11. TCW Chika Nwaka
12. CPS Jackson Akan Daniels
In the second phase of the sanctification exercise, the King of kings and Lord of lords rubbed the disciples feet with oil and with the song, “Greatest doctor, Lord delay not to come and be with us; He prayed for His disciples. Then He anointed their head and face with holy water and oil dropped into their ears and eyes; sign of the cross were made on their forehead. The next songs were “Holy Spirit, Lord do thy work in us (for) I trust in your power.” “Satan behold my children. I’ve put on them my seal, when I send them on errand, touch them not;” “Greatest warrior, you created man, give me the Iron boot to match whatever crawls.”
Individually His Holiness implored the 12 to purify their heart and soul and,
raised another song “Lord I’m clinging onto the helm of your garment help me. He danced among the disciples. Again he prayed on each of the 12 placing His hand on each. With the song “Behold the holy water from the mountain coming down, whoever drinks it shall live forever,” the king of kings and Lord of lords gave the 12 a glass of water which they shared. This traditionally is known to represent the water that ran along the blood through the pierced side of the Lord Jesus Christ. And the 12 also drank the holy oil from the same cup. The oil again represents the Blood of the Lamb of God. As the son “Lord, infuse into us thy power for we, your children have come” was sang, the Returned Christ shook each of the disciples, empowering them with the spirit from high, to strengthen them for the tasks ahead.
His Lordship Bishop Manfred Elleh, the spokesman of the newly appointed 12, expressed his gratitude to the Holy Father for the choice of His disciples on whose behalf he appealed for strength, the Holy Spirit and zeal for the task ahead. Speaking further, the returning disciple (2008-2009) expressed optimism in the Father for the individual and collective abilities and talents within each and every disciple, which he said will yield the anticipated results during the tenure of their discipleship.
