N1.8 Million Splashed on Choristers

The My Redeemer Liveth Choral Competition held during the just concluded April 2010
Brotherhood of the Cross and Star Universal Event on Thursday 1st of April 2010 witnessed
the Rivers State Central Choir emerging as the champions.
To achieve this feat, the one million Naira (N1 million) richer central choir came out tops beating the likes of Lagos State, Akwa Ibom State, Cross River State central choirs along side nine others
Announcing the panel’s verdict to an astonished congregation during the grand finale of
the largely attended event, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu the King of kings and Lord of lords
congratulated all the participating choirs and also the efforts of the organizing sub-committee
and the CNCF for the successes recorded during the singing exercise.
Surprise 1st runners up of the choral competition and first timers at any choral competition
held in the BCS World Headquarters, the United States of America National Choir, bagged a
cash award of five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000) while closely followed by the
Cross River State central choir in 3rd position going home with a cash prize of three
hundred thousand Naira.
From the result analysis, the Cross River State Central Choir lost the top spot to the eventual
winners due to a penalty meted on the choir by the Board of Adjudicators for a delay on
coming on stage, which resulted in the deduction of three valuable points.
